Itinerary
DAY 1: Khangal Lake – Baldanbereeven Monastery (280 km)
You will start the trip traveling to Khangal Lake northeast of Ulaanbaatar. The Khangal Lake is a small lake with an area of 1.5 square kilometers, but it is beautiful with truly fresh water which seems to be an additional inlay to the natural scenery of the area. Surrounding Khangal Lake, there are sparsely forested mountains and low mountains. Then we will go to Baldanbereeven Monastery, which is 10 km from the lake. This large monastery, was founded in 1777, and now the ruins remained, but it tells a unique history that is interesting to visit. In the monastery, every year, Buddhists from European countries come to participate in its restoration work. Located in a beautiful natural environment, it is a perfect place to energize and meditate or enjoy doing yoga. Drop off at a nearby guesthouse. Spend a relaxing afternoon in the near ger tourist camps.

DAY 2: Dund Jargalant Deer stone monument – Yargui gorge (120 km)
We continue our trip by visiting the Dund-Jargalant Deer stone monument and further we move to Binder ovoo (Binder mount), and Uglugchiin Kherem (Uglugch Wall) which has a royal cemetery area. Dund-Jargalant Deer stone is the easternmost of the deer stones spread throughout Mongolia. On the site, there are 5 deer stones made of gray marble and a square mound. The deer stones are considered to belong to the Bronze Age. Then we head to Uglugch Wall or Uglugchiin Kherem, which is 2.5-3 meters high, 2.5 meters wide, and approximately 3km long fortress of neatly placed stone propped up against cliffs of pine and larch trees. Researchers believe that the stone masonry represents early tribal boundaries. There is also a place where the nobles who belong to the golden ancestors (Altan Urag) of Chinggis Khan used to perform sacrifices. After lunch, drive to Binder Sum to reach Yargui Gorge. In this area of natural beauty, there is a mountain cliff with a forest behind it and a bald one in front, and when you get to reach the top you can see the whole surrounding nature. Down there, the famous Onon river flows through many branches, and we can see it from the top.

DAY 3: Deluun Boldog (160 km)
This day, from Binder sum we travel along Bayan-Adarga sum heading to explore the Hunnu Empire (Xiongnu empire) burial mound in Duurilag Nars. On this site, you can find 299 graves and as researchers believe, about 10 of them are royal burials. As a custom of the Hunnu Empire, when the king died, 20-30 of his attendants and servants were buried too. Then you visit the "Mongolian Queens palace" museum. It is a place in honor of 10 historical queens who have played important role in Mongolian history. After lunch, we drive to Dadal Sum where we would visit the small museum of Temujin's childhood. Then we pay tribute to a statue of Chinggis Khaan, which was secretly built during Stalinism. The statue was built in 1962 and is a 12-meter in height. Near the south of the statue, we can see the historical place, the birthplace of Chinggis Khaan. An island in one of three separate lakes called Gurvan Nuur (Three Lakes) is called Deluun Boldog and researchers believe that it is the birthplace of Chinggis Khaan. Now there is a stone mount in the place, and everyone who visits prays and worships that they meet with Chinggis Khaan. Mongolians have been worshiping that if the visitors pray sincerely, their spirits will be lifted and work, life, and business will be flourished.

DAY 4: Berkh Mining museum – Chinggis City (280 km)
We will drive south from Dadal sum crossing through Novovlin sum and arrive at Berkh mining museum with a short stop at the statue “Oath of Sky” on the way. This statue was established based on the historical fact that is written in the Mongolian Secret History book. The story tells that at this site, Temuujin (Chinggis Khaan’s youth name) made a friendship with Boorchi who was one of the 9 powerful generals of his army. Temuujin lost his 8 yellow stallion horses and while searching for them he met Boorchi, who was the only son of wealthy man Nakhu, and helped him to find back the stolen horses. Then they made a "friendship oath" at this place and this friendship lasted until the end of their life. Later, during the conquest of Chinggis Khaan, Boorchi became famous as one of his four knights. Berkh mine is a place where field spar was mined, and now one of the depleted resources has been converted into Mongolia's first mining museum. Mongolia is the fifth largest producer and exporter of field spars in the world. After visiting the museum, we arrive at Chinggis City.

DAY 5: Ulaanbaatar (340 km)
On the final day of the trip, we will visit Setsen Khan Museum and poet Choinom statue square in Chinggis city and drive back to Ulaanbaatar city. Setsen Khan is the name of the former administrative unit of Mongolia, and before socialism, Mongolia was divided into 4 aimags (state provinces) and the eastern part was called "Setsen Khan Province". Poet Choinom was the most famous poet of Mongolia. He was imprisoned and persecuted for criticizing Stalinism, Socialism, and Communism and expressing the socialist community of that time in vivid colors. People love his poems and recite and quote from them, as well as there are many of his poems are composed and sung.
